Sony HXR-MC2000E Camcorder expands AVCHD Line-up
Packed with features and ideal for entry-level professional camera operators
Sony is further expanding its professional camcorder line-up with the launch of the new HXR-MC2000E. The HXR-MC2000E adds to Sony’s new category of professional AVCHD file-based memory camcorders, giving an ideal balance of performance, cost and functionality, all in a shoulder-style camcorder.
Superb image quality is guaranteed with proven features such as Sony’s state-of-the-art G-Lens and Exmor R CMOS sensor (up to four million pixels). The superior extreme wide angle optical G-lens provides a wide angle of up to 29.8mm with a 12x optical zoom.
Sony’s Exmor R CMOS sensors have the ability to produce brilliant content even in low light conditions. The new camcorder adopts a back-illuminated technology that enables the image sensor to utilise incidental light more efficiently, reducing the amount of noise by approximately half. This helps videographers achieve rich image quality even in low light situations. The HXR-MC2000E comes with Optical SteadyShot image stabilisation (Active Mode) and a 3-Way Shake Cancelling feature to reduce the effects of hand shake. This advanced stabilisation system results in brilliant, accurate and sharp video footage – even for fast-moving, on-the-go shooting.
“The release of the HXR-MC2000E is further evidence of Sony’s desire to provide professional equipment suitable for every level of the market. This new camcorder offers a great feature set, is lightweight and highly affordable. Ideal for a range of customers from event videography though to corporate communications and educational training use, the MC2000E gives existing tape-based customers a clear migration path to solid-state acquisition today and in the future,” said Nick Buchner, Sony ANZ’s Senior Product Manager for Content Creation products.
The HXR-MC2000E includes 64GB of built-in flash memory storage, supporting recording of up to 360 minutes in FX mode. Utilising the AVCHD format allows for highly efficient video compression, it offers long recording time of HD content on a multitude of affordable consumer media including Memory Stick Pro Duo and SD/SDHC cards.
Also available is the Direct Copy feature, which lets you transfer footage to external hard disk drives (USB2.0; under 2TB, FAT32) via a USB cable, when connected to AC power, for PC-free back-up and archiving.
