Blackmagic announces new products at IBC
Raft of new products announced by Australian company
Australian company Blackmagic Design has announced a swag of new products while displaying at the IBC SHow in Europe
- Intensity Extreme, a Thunderbolt based HDMI and analog capture and playback device that is Thunderbolt powered so it needs no power supply. It will be available in Q4 for $309 (AU$ Inc GST). - SmartView HD. This is a full resolution HD rack monitor for easy color matching and comes with a 17” LCD, 3Gb/s SDI video inputs & central control for $919 (AU$ Inc GST). This is the second product in our SmartView rack mounted monitor line. We announced the SmartView Duo at NAB and have been shipping that since the early summer. - Heavy Duty Mini Converters: 4 new models of Mini Converters that are machined from a solid block of aluminum. They also include 3 Gb/s SDI, redundant SDI inputs and an international power supply. - Resolve for Windows (http://www.blackmagic-design.com/press/pressdetails/?releaseID=25111). Users will be able to swap back and forth between Mac and Windows on a single license. This will be available in early 2012.
- Resolve 8.1 (http://www.blackmagic-design.com/press/pressdetails/?releaseID=25110), which includes ACES colorspace support, new effects, improved AAF and Media Composer workflows and support for MacBook Pro 15”.

- ATEM Studio Converter. This is a Quad rack mounted optical fiber SDI converter with built in talkback for $2045 (AU$ Inc GST). This is perfect for live production because users can install it as a regular optical fiber converter and each of the optical fiber converters are totally independent of each other and bi-directional. - HyperDeck Shuttle Mounting Plate: This is a new attachment for our popular HyperDeck Shuttle SSD recorder. It allows the Shuttle to be attached to any 1/4” or 3/8’ thread on a camera or camera accessory. It is available for $105 (AU$ Inc GST). - OpenGear Converters: We will be shipping new UpDownCross and SDI Distribution models. UpDownCross converts between SD and HD formats, and SDI Distribution has a full range of SDI conversion tool to allow video input signals to 9 reclocked outputs simultaneously and switches SDI standards when SDI inputs change.
